I joined the Johor Bahru Toastmasters Club fifteen years ago. I could still remember that fateful day. I was at the front of the Tropical Inn Hotel contemplating whether to take the lift up to the meeting room. Picking up sufficient courage, I decided to attend the meeting and was pleasantly caught off-guard by the warm hospitality of the members. I knew that I had picked the right organization.

The well-structured Toastmasters training programme, based on self-learning and learning-by-doing, has certainly boosted my self-confidence, especially when speaking in front of a large audience. Nowadays, I have no difficulty speaking in front of an audience, large and small. I have also sharpened my skills to speak off-the-cuff. Most importantly, the skills that I have learned as a Toastmaster have allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a trainer and consultant. In addition, I have the opportunity to meet numerous people who share the same passion of pursuing their life-long dreams of continuous self-improvement. Toastmasters has enriched my life.
