The Art Of Effective Evaluation 

This program will give club members the knowledge, motivation and skills they need to become effective evaluators.

This module requires a leader, working from a coordinators guide, to conduct a learning and exercise session that teaches the techniques and dynamics of effective evaluation.  Designed for use within the Club environment, this training program provides for application for any number of people and promotes member participation to the maximum extent possible, requiring only a limited amount of materials.

This program can be conducted during a single club meeting lasting approximately two hours. The module is a seminar style program with four group exercises , one of which is the regular Club speaking / evaluation program.

Main Role players:

1 Coordinator
  • prepares and lead the seminar
  • present lecture -type material
  • leads exercise and group discussions
2 Assistant Coordinator
  • distributes handout/ seminar materials
  • collect back forms and tabulate the results
3 Toastmaster
  • introduce speakers
  • introduce evaluators
4 Speakers
  • a few speakers with different levels of experience ( assignment number ) is selected.
  • speakers have to prepare and present manual speeches form the CL manuals
5 Evaluators
  • One evaluator per speaker.
  • They should be told who they will evaluate in advance
6 President
  • The club president introduces the coordinator at the beginning of the session,
  • presents certificates of participation
  • closes the meeting

Members who have taken part in this  program should record their participation in their education records eg.

  • The coordinator --for application for ATM-G if he or she fulfils the other requirements of the award
  • Speakers - record as completed their chosen manual speech
  • Evaluators -  arrange for silent evaluator to be recorded in the CL manual
  • The other Participants eg. General Evaluator, AHH counter , Language Evaluator, Toastmasters  etc , should get a silent evaluator record participation in CL manual
